As the Occupational Health Specialist (Health Officer) for ASM Korea, you will serve as the primary occupational health professional supporting employees across service, office, and customer-site operations.

The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Korean Occupational Safety and Health regulations, implementing ASM Global Occupational Health standards, supporting customer requirements, and protecting employee health and wellbeing. The role will manage occupational health programs, health surveillance activities, industrial hygiene programs, chemical management, workplace exposure monitoring, and occupational disease prevention initiatives across ASM Korea.

This position is responsible for managing ASM Korea occupational health programs and supporting service operations, office locations, and customer sites across Korea.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Occupational Health, Nursing, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or EHS experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, electronics manufacturing, or other high-tech industries preferred.
  • Experience performing Occupational Health Manager (Health Officer) responsibilities under Korean Occupational Safety and Health regulations preferred.
  • Experience supporting customer contractor approval processes and preferred EHS requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Korean Occupational Safety and Health Act and related regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position is responsible for managing ASM Korea Occupational Health programs and supporting Korea

service operations, service office locations, and customer sites.

Occupational Health Compliance & Health Surveillance

  • Ensure compliance with Korean occupational health regulations and ASM global standards.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage employee health examination programs including pre-placement, periodic, and special health examinations.
  • Maintain occupational health records and employee exposure history.
  • Manage follow-up actions for employees with occupational health findings.
  • Coordinate occupational disease prevention and health surveillance programs.

Industrial Hygiene & Chemical Management

  • Identify occupational health hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage occupational health risk assessments.
  • Conduct hazard communication and employee awareness training.
  • Manage SDS/MSDS systems and chemical inventories.
  • Support chemical risk assessments and exposure evaluations.
  • Coordinate workplace environment monitoring programs.
  • Support industrial hygiene assessments related to chemicals, noise, ergonomics, and indoor air quality.
  • Ensure follow-up actions are completed and tracked to closure.

Contractor Approval & Customer Support

  • Lead and coordinate annual contractor approval processes required by major semiconductor customers
  • Support customer contractor approval requirements under Korean regulations.
  • Support customer EHS requirements, audits, and occupational health assessments.
  • Participate in customer occupational health reviews and best practice sharing initiatives.

Training & EHS Program Support

  • Develop and deliver occupational health training programs.
  • Conduct employee training on chemical hazards, occupational diseases, ergonomics, and emergency response.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in risk assessments and management of change activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Strong understanding of Korean Occupational Safety and Health regulations and Occupational Health principles.
  • Experience managing health examination programs, occupational disease prevention, and industrial hygiene activities.
  • Experience supporting contractor approval processes and customer EHS requirements.
  • Knowledge of chemical management, workplace exposure monitoring, and risk assessment programs.
  • Strong communication skills in Korean and English.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Qualified to serve as an occupational health officer under Korean regulations.
  • Preferred certifications include Registered Nurse (RN), Industrial Hygiene Engineer(산업위생기사), Ergonomics Engineer(인간공학기사), Air Environmental Industrial Engineer(대기환경기사), or equivalent qualifications recognized under Korean regulations.

Travel

  • Up to 30% travel, primarily within Korea.

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment around semiconductor equipment, including in/around process modules, hazardous gas/chemical systems, and supporting facilities infrastructure.

  • Office and Fab environment
  • Location: Dongtan, Korea, with responsibility for supporting EHS activities across customer sites.
