We're Hiring | Specialist Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Physician – Sharjah, UAE

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Physician to join a leading healthcare provider in Sharjah, UAE. The successful candidate will provide expert critical care services to adult patients with life-threatening medical and surgical conditions while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Provide comprehensive critical care for patients with:
• Sepsis and septic shock
• Acute respiratory failure
• Multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS)
• Cardiac emergencies
• Neurological emergencies
• Trauma and post-operative critical care
• Acute renal failure and metabolic emergencies
• Perform and supervise critical care procedures, including:
• Endotracheal intubation and airway management
• Central venous and arterial line insertion
• Mechanical ventilation management
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Bedside ultrasound (where credentialed)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Lead rapid response and resuscitation efforts for critically ill patients.
• Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, internists, cardiologists, nephrologists, and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical governance standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
• Mentor junior physicians and contribute to departmental education and training.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical qualification.
• Board Certification, Fellowship, Arab Board, or equivalent recognized Specialist qualification in Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with ICU experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
• Eligibility for or possession of the relevant UAE medical license to practice in Sharjah.
• Strong expertise in critical care medicine, ventilator management, invasive procedures, and emergency resuscitation.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered critical care.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience working in internationally accredited tertiary care hospitals.
• UAE or GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Additional certifications such as FCCS, EDIC, FCCM, or ECMO training are an advantage.
