Are you seeking a role with a values-driven for purpose organisation where you can support young people in our community? Apply your skills managing social housing operations and ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of BYS’s 24/7 houses.

This position is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of three [3] 24/7 housing services for young people aged 15- 18 years and two [2] Advantage Thinking Model houses. The position manages the high-quality medium length supported temporary accommodation for young people, risk mitigation and oversight for the operations of these specialist programs.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have:

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline, or significant demonstrated experience working in a comparable human services or community-based role.
• Demonstrated experience working with young people and young families, with a strong understanding of the complex issues contributing to homelessness or risk of homelessness.
• Proven experience managing social housing operations, including sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, standards, guidelines and service delivery frameworks.
• Highly developed problem-solving and risk management skills, with demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and initiative in a direct service delivery environment.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive, inclusive culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, advocate effectively, and operate without daily
  supervision.

Given the work that we do, there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

• A Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
• A National Coordinated Criminal History Check [Police Check].
• Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella [Chicken Pox], and Pertussis [Whooping Cough].
