About the role

An opportunity exists for a Specialist - Heritage to join our People and Corporate Affairs team based in Perth. Reporting to the Lead Heritage Compliance, you will develop and deliver culturally appropriate heritage plans that support the medium and long-term objectives of our operations. Working closely with Traditional Owners, internal stakeholders, heritage consultants and regulatory bodies, you will ensure heritage requirements are effectively integrated into mine planning and project delivery. You will coordinate agreement-compliant and regulator-ready outcomes while maintaining trusted relationships, accurate heritage records and effective project handovers.

Duties

• Build and maintain trusted, respectful and productive relationships with Traditional Owners and native title holders
• Plan and deliver heritage engagement activities, surveys, salvage programs and related work in accordance with Heritage and Native Title Agreements
• Coordinate survey schedules, field logistics and Traditional Owner participation to ensure activities are completed safely, on time and to a high professional standard
• Partner with site-based heritage teams and internal stakeholders to integrate heritage requirements into project planning, execution and handover
• Maintain accurate GIS datasets, heritage records, compliance registers and risk documentation, ensuring information is accessible and fit for purpose
• Support cultural heritage management plans, Section 18 consent processes and Traditional Owner monitoring of ground-disturbing activities
• Manage regulatory engagement and heritage approval submissions, provide clear reporting and escalation, and maintain compliance with relevant legislation, agreements and heritage management standards

Skills and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Heritage Management, Indigenous Studies or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in cultural heritage practice, including heritage surveys, field activities and project coordination
• Experience managing heritage matters and building effective working relationships with Traditional Owners and native title holders
• Working knowledge of relevant cultural heritage legislation, regulatory requirements, agreements and approval processes
• Experience developing and improving heritage policies, procedures, templates, registers, compliance records and project handover documentation
• Experience providing heritage advice to stakeholders, consultants and project teams, with a relevant postgraduate qualification considered advantageous
