Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all aspects of exercise physiology and occupational health for the operation at Universal Horror Unleashed as it pertains to injury prevention, creating structured, goal-oriented, individualized programs designed to facilitate injury prevention and recovery processes. The role will understand the action and posture of Team Members inclusive of performance during the show and facility operations. Supports the assessment of the risk associated with the expected postures and movements. This role will also provide professional instruction to Performers for auditions, rehearsals, training, workshops, pre-show warm-ups and post-show stretching. Additionally, supports Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities, including basic safety training, safety inspections, hazard identification, safety walks, incident documentation, and follow-up on corrective actions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies roles/tasks which pose a risk to Team Member health due to ergonomic and performance related hazards, using established ergonomic and other risk assessment tools. Provides mitigation guidance using the hierarchy of controls to include blocking, task configuration, repetitive postures/movements/forces, wardrobe/ costuming, material handling equipment, etc.
  • Develops fitness level parameters and specific training/work hardening programs for each identified “at risk” role/task in coordination with Entertainment Management and EHS. Evaluates individual fitness levels of each Team Member in these roles against established criteria parameters for the position.
  • Develops and oversee personalized exercise prescriptions and injury prevention training relating to speed, agility and strength as it relates to the job function with an overall focus on injury prevention and meeting the job parameters. Provides guidance and consultation on fitness, diet and health as well as instruction on the correct use of exercise equipment. Works with Entertainment Management to ensure equipment is appropriate, safe, and in proper working order.
  • Strictly adheres to and actively promotes all established UHU and Universal medical protocols, policies, procedures and Standing Orders while performing duties.
  • Examines and treats all Team Members injuries and illness according to company policies and procedures while using sound judgement based on established industry practice. Escalates first aid triage to UHU leadership to determine next level of occupational health intervention.
  • Provides timely and accurate documentation for each Team Member; documenting the appropriate assessment and treatment plans and maintaining the appropriate paperwork and electronic files.
  • Assists with EHS training and may provide basic EHS training to Team Members and leaders using established EHS policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Supports the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program through completion of safety inspections, hazard identification activities, safety walks, incident documentation, and follow-up on corrective actions to promote a safe working environment.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Experience with injury prevention and the development of structured, individualized fitness or recovery programs.
  • Experience working with high-caliber performers, artists, or athletes is preferred.
  • Understanding of exercise progression and preventive fitness practices is preferred.
  • Ability to assess situations, exercise sound judgment within established protocols, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Ability to meet daily departmental operational needs while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, care, and ethics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organizational, follow-through, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to learn basic EHS, training, document-management, and incident-reporting systems.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Nevada state certifications are required, including CPR/AED. Personal Trainer certification is preferred.
  • Obtain a non-gaming work card.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or Science, or Athletic Training is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years in exercise physiology, fitness programming, or related physical fitness experience is required, experience working with athletes or performers is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
