Join Each’s Child, Youth & Family Wellbeing program, supporting individuals, children, and families impacted by family violence and trauma You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to healing, safety, and strengthening relationships within the community.

Your role, your impact

You will support individuals and families to recover, rebuild and move forward safely. Through trauma-informed counselling and collaboration, your work will help reduce harm, strengthen relationships, and improve long-term wellbeing outcomes for children and families.

• Deliver meaningful support by providing individual and family counselling
• Promote recovery and resilience for individuals, children, young people, and parents/carers impacted by abuse, family violence, trauma and loss, including working with victim survivors through the Pathways to Resilience program and adolescents using violence in the home (AVITH) through the Walking Together program
• Apply trauma-informed practice with a focus on recovery, healing, and relationship safety
• Manage risk and safety by conducting ongoing assessments and developing safety plans aligned to MARAM and Child Wellbeing frameworks
• Work collaboratively with parents, family members and key stakeholders, including Child Protection, The Orange Door and community services
• Create tailored care plans that respond to family dynamics and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children
• Coordinate referrals and supports to connect clients with the services they need
• Facilitate group programs and contribute to therapeutic activities that support positive outcomes
• Contribute to team excellence through supervision, reflective practice, and continuous learning
• Maintain high-quality documentation and meet compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements

Who we’re looking for

• Experience in family violence support working with children, individuals, and families experiencing trauma
• Strong counselling capability delivering therapeutic interventions and assessments
• Knowledge of trauma-informed frameworks including attachment, neurobiology, and family violence dynamics
• Confidence managing complex situations including risk assessment and safety planning
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and external networks
• Culturally responsive approach working respectfully with diverse communities
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Effective time management and ability to balance competing priorities

Mandatory qualifications

• A minimum of a 3-year degree in Social Work, Counselling or equivalent qualification

What will make you stand out

• Registration with a relevant professional body (AASW, PACFA, ACA)
• Experience facilitating therapeutic group programs
• Experience working within community or not-for-profit settings
