The Challenge Ahead

The Specialist Employee Relations role supports leaders and employees by providing practical advice and hands on support across employee relations, workplace investigations, and ethical conduct matters. The role focuses on managing employee relations cases, supporting investigations, and promoting fair, consistent, and compliant people practices aligned to BHP policies and values.

Key Accountabilities

Employee Relations Support

• Provide day to day employee relations advice to leaders on performance, conduct, grievances, and workplace conflict
• Support the management of ER cases, including disciplinary processes and dispute resolution
• Apply employment legislation, agreements, and BHP policies consistently and appropriately
• Partner with HR and Legal teams to support compliant and timely outcomes

Workplace Investigations & Ethics

• Support and conduct workplace investigations in line with BHP frameworks, including lower risk and non-Category A matters
• Assist with evidence gathering, interviews, documentation, and investigation reporting
• Provide guidance to leaders on appropriate investigation and non investigation pathways
• Promote ethical behaviour and awareness of the BHP Code of Conduct and Charter Values

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Experience & Skills

• Experience supporting employee relations matters and/or workplace investigations
• Working knowledge of employment legislation and ER best practice
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
• Clear communicator with the confidence to advise and support leaders
• Strong interpersonal skills and a practical, solutions focused approach

Qualifications

• Qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Law, Investigations, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience

Work Location

Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. This 12-month term position will require regular travel to the Jansen Mine Site.
