Works directly with the Diagnostic Medical Physicist to assure high quality, consistently reliable imaging acquisition and display with the lowest possible risk to the patient. The main responsibilities are to acquire a comprehensive measure of diagnostic equipment operation, function, and performance of imaging modalities and software systems used by the Radiology Department, including CT, MR, US, and nuclear medicine. Must maintain operational knowledge of imaging equipment, select software packages, all summary documents, and procedures for performance testing. Other duties include collection and modeling of data for compliance, Quality Control (QC), and optimization. Assists with performing patient-specific radiation measurements and calculations, quality assurance tests of equipment, image processing, and software development under the supervision of a Diagnostic Medical Physicist. Assists with developing, evaluating, and performing QC of custom clinical AI software and systems. Candidates with a background in computer science and/or computer programming are strongly encouraged to apply.
Bachelor's degree required by the time of hire; degree in a physical science, engineering, data science, computer science, or mathematics is required. Excellent computer skills, technical problem solving skills, flexibility in work hours, and ability to work evening and overnight shifts. Ability to manage time, cooperate with others, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed measurements using high quality instrumentation. Proficiency with computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy.
