Administer high net worth deceased estates ranging from standard to complex cases, ensuring legal compliance, stakeholder engagement, and timely execution of estate processes in line with fiduciary standards and service excellence.
This role is accountable for the execution of routine tasks and support activities that contribute to service delivery within a business or functional area. The incumbent applies standard procedures, follows defined guidelines, and works under supervision to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to collaborate with team members to meet service standards and customer expectations.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Administer estates from reporting to final distribution, including drafting liquidation and distribution accounts

  • Ensure compliance with estate laws, internal policies and all other regulations or laws that are governing estates administration

  • Analyse the content of the Will to establish whether it is executable or not (e.g. Farm property bequeathed to more than one person, this is not possible in terms of the Act 70 of 1970). After analysing the Will consider possible solutions and make suggestions to the client (i.e. Redistribution agreement, Close Corporations, Companies / Deed of Election / Possible cash shortfall, Estate duty payable, possible Capital Gains Tax implications).

  • Consult with bereaved clients, to explain processes and timeframes, to obtain relevant information and documents, to update and inform, and to manage expectations.

  • Provide efficient service and manage estate risks by ensure accurate documentation

  • Collaborate across teams to resolve estate complexities

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation

  • Knowledge of relevant statutes – Administration of Estates Act; Estate Duty Act; Wills Act; Intestate Succession Act

Education

National Diplomas and Advanced Certificates: Estate and Trust Management, National Diplomas and Advanced Certificates: Financial Planning, National Diplomas and Advanced Certificates: Law, National Senior Certificate/ Matric (Grade 12)
