About the Role

Enterprise Mining Probabilistic (EMP) is a new and innovative approach to mine planning for stable, predictable business plan delivery. Its focus is on managing the critical paths in execution using a project management approach to reduce variability and increase bottleneck performance, delivering stable mining operations for BMA.

Based at Peak Downs and reporting to the Critical Path Project Management (CPPM) Superintendent, the Specialist CPPM is responsible for applying EMP methodologies to execute the 24-hour plan.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the site safety and health management system. This includes, but is not limited to completion of prestart checks, BMA Safe, field leadership and participation in investigations
  • Collaborating with Mine Planning and CPPM Project Schedulers, ensuring priorities are communicated to field supervisors for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
  • Support the development of an accurate 90-Day Project Activity Schedule by engaging in planning and forecasting, with a focus on critical paths
  • Ensure site operational supervisors align with the mine plan and the 90-Day schedule
  • Promote ‘Project Management’ way of working, and manage any disruptions within the 90-day project schedule window are managed or removed to protect critical path
  • Scope and enable work activities, including task sequencing, equipment requirements, durations, supporting tasks, and high‑complexity scopes (including input to CiteOps)
  • Conduct daily pit inspections to verify activities, track machine positions, assess schedule impacts, identify future work, and escalate design requirements
  • Maintain schedule accuracy by providing daily updates to Project Schedulers and reconciling the 90‑day (weekly) and 150‑day (monthly) plans via CPPM dashboards
  • Monitor plan execution, track completion of scheduled work, escalate variances, maintain records of facts, and align value‑chain plans across teams
  • Review and validate plans and controls daily, including 90‑day plans, equipment paths, RTW packs, Week Zero Change Forms, TARPs, and PDCA performance cycles
  • Support supervisors to deliver safe and productive shifts through clear priorities, work packs, handover planning, and effective resource allocation
  • Coordinate stakeholders during unplanned events, including major weather or significant plan disruptions
  • Drive plan stability through alignment to decision rights and continuous improvement via trend analysis, improvement initiatives, EMP Mine Improvement Projects, and performance reviews
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to maintain strong understanding of mine schedules, designs, pit strategies, and delivery requirements

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in production and/or mine planning roles
  • Previous experience in a mine planning leadership role would be advantageous
  • All statutory competencies and authorised as a Supervisor on site and willing to attain G2 competency
  • CiteOps/SAP system knowledge or prior scheduling package experience.
  • Understanding of the mining value chain
  • Managing safety and productivity improvements
  • Critical and systems thinking skills
  • Ability to assess, evaluate and prioritse system risks
  • Ability to identify, engage, and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven time management skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
