The Corporate North Accounting team is a key contributor to these objectives as we drive to increase automation and streamline processes in statutory accounting and financial reporting pertaining to the entities within the Corporate North remit.

Purpose

The Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for the preparation and analysis of high quality financial reporting information to ensure that statutory and group reporting requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include

Performance and Delivery

  • Prepare month end reporting deliverables including upload of assigned Corporate North entities’ financial results to the Group consolidation reporting system (HFM)
  • Prepare interim and year-end Group reporting deliverables in respect of assigned Corporate North entities – including relevant statutory notes and templates
  • Review SAP data for assigned Corporate North entities on a monthly basis
  • Support the Corporate Analyst in preparation of complex journal scripts
  • Review and certify Blackline SAP journals
  • Review, improve and maintain mapping between key financial systems: namely SAP and HFM
  • Review, improve and maintain alignment of intercompany balances and transactions between relevant Corporate North entities and Businesses
  • Perform all ICFR controls as set out in the Corporate North Risks and Controls Matrix (RACM) with particular focus on SAP to HFM reconciliation; Variance Analysis; and Manual Adjustment management.
  • Prepare Corporate plan and forecasts including loading of into the Group consolidation reporting system (HFM).
  • Adhere to Group reporting timelines and escalate issues on a timely basis
  • Support preparation of Corporate North Entity statutory financial statements.
  • Support step-plan and other submissions to Statutory Entity boards and committees at various times during the year.
  • Liaise with the external auditors.
  • Liaise with Group Tax on year-end tax returns and other tax requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with key contacts in Group Functions such as Global Shared Services; Group Tax; Company Secretarial; Group HR; Group Treasury and Corporate Finance as relevant.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities

Compliance

  • Ensure that ICFR controls are appropriately applied across all accounting and reporting processes
  • Identify and report control deficiencies and undertake remediation where required
  • Ensure all accounting is executed in compliance with Group Accounting Standards

Qualifications

University degree preferred. CA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Competency in relevant financial systems (e.g. SAP; HFM; Blackline)
  • Experience in performing complex consolidations
  • Experience in statutory reporting
  • Experience in a multinational business of comparable scale and complexity
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering work to a very high standard
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems
