Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Consultant / Specialist Psychiatrist to join a reputed healthcare facility in Dubai, UAE
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a broad range of psychiatric and mental health conditions. The role offers an opportunity to work in a professional, multidisciplinary environment focused on patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and clinical evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of mental health and psychiatric conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs.
- Provide medication management and monitor treatment response and potential side effects.
- Provide appropriate psychotherapy and counseling within the physician's qualifications and scope of practice.
- Manage patients with depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and other psychiatric conditions.
- Assess patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms and determine appropriate treatment or referral.
- Evaluate suicide and self-harm risk and implement appropriate safety and management plans.
- Provide ongoing follow-up and continuity of psychiatric care.
- Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, counselors, nurses, social workers, and other medical specialists.
- Refer patients for additional psychological, neurological, medical, or specialized assessment when clinically appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records.
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans clearly and sensitively to patients and families.
- Promote mental health awareness, preventive care, and appropriate patient education.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
- Follow DHA regulations, professional standards, ethical guidelines, and facility policies.
Requirements
MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
DHA License or DHA Eligibility is preferred.
Candidates meeting DHA eligibility requirements may also be considered.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Experience managing a diverse range of psychiatric and mental health conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethical standards and a patient-centered approach.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
