Job Description

Some of what you will do:

The Specialist, Communications & Process supports store readiness and execution by coordinating store communications, operational initiatives, and planning activities across multiple business functions. This role serves as a key point of liaison between business partners and store operations, ensuring communications are clear, timely, and aligned with store priorities.

This position manages communication intake, develops communication assets, coordinates execution planning, and supports continuous process improvements that simplify the store experience. Through strong organization, stakeholder collaboration, and attention to detail, this role helps ensure stores are equipped to successfully execute key business initiatives.

Specifically, You Will:

Store Communications Planning & Coordination

  • Manage communication request intake, prioritization, and coordination with business partners.

  • Support communication planning activities to ensure store-facing initiatives are appropriately scheduled and

  • aligned with operational priorities.

  • Coordinate communication calendars, timelines, and execution plans to support store readiness.

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure communications are clear, actionable, and considerate of store workload

  • and execution requirements.

  • Act as a liaison between business teams and store operations to support effective communication and

  • execution planning.

Content Development & Channel Management:

  • Develop, publish, and maintain content across store communication channels, including messages,

  • newsletters, emails, and digital content platforms.

  • Support the creation and publication of recurring communication programs, ensuring accuracy and alignment

  • with business priorities.

  • Design communication materials and visual assets that enhance understanding and execution in stores.

  • Maintain communication assets, templates, and content repositories to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and

  • version control.

Operational Readiness & Initiative Support:

  • Coordinate communication and readiness activities for store-facing programs, promotions, and operational

  • initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business partners to assess store impacts, identify execution considerations, and support

  • effective rollout plans.

  • Support tracking of key deliverables, timelines, and communication requirements related to store initiatives. · Help ensure stores have the information, resources, and tools required to confidently execute business priorities.

Process Improvement & Execution Support:

  • Identify opportunities to simplify communications and improve the store experience.

  • Leverage planning tools and communication platforms to improve consistency, visibility, and efficiency.

  • Support ongoing enhancements to communication processes, workflows, and operational support tools.

  • Contribute to initiatives that reduce complexity and improve execution quality across stores.

Some of what you need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, retail operations, project coordination, marketing, or a

  • related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong editing and proofreading abilities.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across multiple stakeholders and functions.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

  • Experience developing communication materials and content.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with content management, collaboration, or workflow tools is considered an asset.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset.

  • Experience at Staples is an added advantage.

Physical demands/working conditions:

  • Office environment – Hybrid, with 4 days onsite in Richmond Hill, subject to the hybrid policy.
