We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join an Outstanding Specialist College in Uxbridge, supporting young people and adults with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The college provides life-changing learning opportunities for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), communication and behavioural difficulties, and complex medical needs.

This role is suitable for a Band 6 or Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist with experience in specialist education or complex needs. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design and deliver individualised and group therapy programmes tailored to learners’ functional goals and educational outcomes.

  • Provide specialist guidance, modelling, and training to teaching staff, support workers, and families to embed communication strategies across the learning environment.

  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes, annual reviews, and multi-disciplinary team meetings.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional, organisational, and legal standards.

  • Support service development and best practice, including mentoring junior colleagues or students (Band 7 level).

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

  • Experience working with young people or adults with SEND, PMLD, complex communication needs, or behavioural challenges.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and collaborative skills.

  • A reflective and proactive approach to continuing professional development.
