We are looking for a Specialist, Marine Currency Hedging and Cash Management to join our Marine Currency Hedging and Cash Management team in Marine Financial Business Services. In this role, your responsibility will be to support effective foreign exchange risk management and hedge accounting across the Marine business.

The preferred location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work. You will report to Manager, Marine Currency hedging and Cash Management.

Your role and responsibilities 

As a Specialist, Marine Currency Hedging and Cash Management your main responsibilities are:

• Identify and mitigate foreign exchange (FX) risk in commercial projects and transactional business by analyzing currency exposures
• Execute currency hedging transactions in cooperation with Group Treasury in accordance with internal policies and guidelines
• Forecast and monitor incoming and outgoing project related payments
• Ensure timely execution of currency hedging activities and related reporting
• Ensure efficient cash flow hedging in compliance with IFRS hedge accounting requirements
• Support and advise Sales, Project Management, Purchase organization and other Marine business stakeholders on foreign exchange risk matters
• Participate in cash management and accounts receivable reporting activities
• Develop and implement tools and processes to enhance currency hedging practices within the responsibility area

Requirements for the position:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in currency risk management and finance
• Good understanding of foreign exchange rate risk and hedging instruments
• Good understanding of cash management principles and processes
• Good understanding of financial accounting in an international business environment
• Good business and financial understanding with analytical mindset
• Excellent knowledge of SAP
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong interest in developing and improving processes and reporting using AI and RPA technologies

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

• Good understanding of Wärtsilä’s business and operating environment
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage
• Systematic, organized, and structured approach to work
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills combined with a positive and proactive attitude
