The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Specialist, Asset Management, Operational Readiness and Asset Disposal to join our Asset Management and Engineering team in Toronto, ON.This is a permanent hybrid position based in Sudbury.
The Specialist, Asset Management, Operational Readiness and Asset Disposal will create and improve processes to ensure assets are ready for operation. This includes managing risks, setting up governance workflows, and ensuring all necessary data and spare parts are in place. You'll standardize processes, monitor asset health, and develop reliability strategies. Additionally, you'll guide teams on best practices and collaborate on asset management throughout the project lifecycle. For asset repurposing or disposal, you'll establish guidelines for replacement, temporary inactivation, and disposal to ensure optimal performance.Additionally in this position you willDefine, standardize, maintain, check, and improve processes to ensure operational readiness across all global operations.Oversee the disposal of assets globally, ensuring governance and compliance with established standards and regulations.Monitor and optimize Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) and Return on Assets (ROA) to enhance financial performance.Track and improve profit margins, Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA), and Residual Asset Value (RAV).Implement strategies to reduce operational risk levels and manage operating costs per unit and dollar to drive cost efficiency.Maximize the operating income of assets by improving their availability and utilization.Ensure all processes and operations comply with ISO 55000 standards for asset management.

About You
Education:Undergraduate degree in related fieldSpecialization in Asset Management and/or Reliability EngineeringCMRP – Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (Preferred)
Experience:5-7 years of expertise in Asset Management, demonstrating a strong track record in optimizing asset performance and lifecycle management.Proven experience in international organizations, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive global initiatives.Skilled in assessing complex business processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.Leadership through influence, adept at guiding teams and stakeholders towards achieving strategic goals without direct authority.Extensive experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Management, and Condition-Based Maintenance, ensuring high reliability and minimal downtime of critical assets.

Skills:
Strong communication abilities. Additionally, possess basic communication skills in Portuguese, essential for operations in Brazil, ensuring smooth and efficient interactions with local teams and stakeholders.Strategic management and organizational skills, coupled with a visionary approach to business development.In-depth knowledge in asset management, business operations, and industrial processes, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.Inclusive leadership, with a proven ability to influence and guide diverse teams across various genders, ages, ethnicities, and cultures.Expertise in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Management, and Condition-Based Maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of assets.Fluent in English and Portuguese, with a preference for bilingual proficiency to enhance communication in international settings.
