Specialist AR Accounting

Key responsibilities

AR Focus

• Apply company credit management policies to evaluate customer credit limits, monitor financial exposure, and mitigate non-payment risks.
• Prepare and issue sales collection documentation, monthly billing statements, and dunning letters; follow up on, collect, and allocate customer payments to minimize overdue balances and DSO.
• Execute AR factoring workflows according to financing agreements, ensuring prompt documentation delivery and accurate settlement with financing partners.
• Compile and distribute weekly AR aging reports with analytical commentary/highlights to Country Managers and provide structured AR data for group reporting.
• Calculate general and individual allowances for doubtful accounts, perform foreign exchange (FX) customer revaluations, and prepare detailed period-end financial schedules.
• Reconcile the AR sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Develop realistic AR and DSO budget/forecast models using sound assumptions and variance analysis.

AP & Others

• Review and audit AP invoices and supporting documents against purchase orders prior to system posting, ensuring proper compliance with VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) regulations.
• Prepare account schedules, workpapers, and supporting evidence to meet internal and external auditor requirements.
• Execute ad-hoc financial analyses, system updates, and operational tasks as assigned by the AR & AP Supervisor.

You bring these skills, experience & education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• Hands-on experience in AR/AP postings, account reconciliations, and financial data extraction.
• Knowledge of supplier invoice verification and withholding tax regulations.
• Good command of English.
• Proficiency in SAP is a must.
• Experience in a B2B business environment is a plus.
