The Specialist demonstrates strong leadership to enable an innovative and positive working climate and a client-centric culture. The Specialist must work cross functionally within the portfolio and across the organization to support operations. The Specialist will develop partnerships and work closely with system and community partners. Specialists are responsible for providing provincial program and operational expertise to support the planning, implementation, coordination, and sustainment of services within the Provincial Surgical Services portfolio. The Specialist supports provincial service delivery by developing and implementing standards, coordinating initiatives, providing subject matter expertise, and facilitating collaboration across operational areas and system partners. The Specialist contributes to achieving the Saskatchewan Health Authority's strategic priorities by supporting consistent, evidence-informed practices across provincial service lines.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in health, social sciences, or administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in developing and leading innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment

Other Education and Training

  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of First Nations and Metis history in Saskatchewan
  • Knowledge of legislation and applicable laws
