Aga Khan Education Services, (AKES, U) is a private, not-for-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of “many generations of multi-racial and multi-cultural student populations” through the provision of quality and affordable education. AKES, U operates schools from Pre-School to High School and offers the Cambridge Curriculum, International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Uganda National Primary and Secondary Curriculum.
The Special Support Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for supporting a class of secondary-aged multilingual learners in developing a program to rebuild essential mathematical understanding through a carefully sequenced curriculum that progresses from basic numeracy, to algebraic principles, then to Cambridge Lower Secondary Mathematics, ultimately providing a strong foundation for Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics at the International High School curriculum and progress towards IGCSE qualifications. The teacher will also ensure that the programme focuses on developing learners' confidence, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and independent learning skills through engaging, learner-centred, and differentiated teaching
