Job Description

Vivalon is looking for a Special Needs Attendant for our Modesto Routes!


The attendant performs various tasks to support the driver in providing safe and proper transportation for our adult clients with disabilities. We provide full training and an excellent team-oriented work environment. Starting pay is $19 an hour and will be a 30-hour-a-week position (Monday through Friday). We offer a comprehensive benefits package beginning the first of the month following one full month of employment that includes medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, life, retirement, paid time off, holidays, and more.



Successful candidates will be able to:

  • Supervise and assist clients in transit.
  • Assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers.
  • Know the appropriate use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs, and seat belts.
  • Demonstrate understanding and empathy for persons with disabilities.
  • Enjoy working with people of all ages and be sensitive to their needs.
  • Display professional behavior when working with clients, co-workers, and community members.
  • Follow all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Report any client concerns to the driver and the appropriate management staff.
  • This Safety Sensitive position requires the ability to pass a background check.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Friendly & reliable plus excellent customer service skills and a desire to help others
  • Valid California Driver's License or California ID Card
  • Provide 2 professional references
  • Pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen and submit to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with federal law throughout employment
