Special Inspector – NAQTC & ACI

Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt)

About the Role

Our client, a well-established consulting engineering firm, is hiring NAQTC-certified Special Inspectors to join their field team in Reno, Nevada. This is not a beginner position — we're looking for inspectors who already hold their certs, know their way around an active job site, and want the hours. If you're a team player who can handle the pace of the construction world, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

• Perform special inspections and construction materials testing for code compliance
• Write clear, accurate daily field reports
• Sample and transport construction materials
• Coordinate on job sites and communicate directly with clients and contractors

  Required Qualifications

• NAQTC certification (required)
• ACI certification strongly preferred — qualifies you for the higher pay tier
• 2+ years of inspection experience working under your certs
• Able to work outdoors in all conditions on active construction sites
• Team player with strong communication skills and a professional attitude
• Reliable — ready to commit to a full schedule and show up for the crew

  Schedule & Work Environment

• 5–6 days per week; overtime is mandatory — this role is for people who want the hours
• Night pours: must be available to work nights and/or weekends as projects require
• Field-based, outdoor work in a fast-paced construction environment

  Pay & Perks

• $30–$34/hour with NAQTC certification
• $34–$38/hour with both NAQTC and ACI certifications
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half over 40 hours/week — with mandatory OT, that adds up fast
• Reimbursements, bonuses, and raises for continued professional certifications
