Level: High SchoolSCI Engineering is a multi-discipline firm offering a variety of services from the design development stage through construction. We specialize in Geotechnical, Environmental, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources and Construction Material Testing services.
SCI is seeking a structural steel/NDT inspector to work in the St. Louis, Missouri region. This position is responsible for the evaluation of structural steel welding and bolting performed in either the fabrication shop or field construction environment. Opportunities for cross-training to perform other tests and inspections such as concrete scanning GPR, bond strength testing, and others will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up and calibrating equipment to assess and evaluate test results.
- Interpret results applicable to codes, standards, and specifications.
- Development and submission of daily reports.
Qualifications
- Visual Weld inspections
- High strength bolt inspections
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Must have at least two years’ experience evaluating weld indications.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position including frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending; working in all weather conditions; and driving to and from project sites with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Education and Experience
- ASNT Level II Certification or possess similar qualifications in Magnetic Particle Testing, and Ultrasonic Shearwave Testing is a plus.
- CWI or ICC Bolted/Welded Connections preferred.
