We are searching for a full-time Special Education Teacher - School Age to join our Langan School in Albany, NY!
The Special Education Teacher contributes to the mission of the Center and the Education Division by developing, implementing, and evaluating the individual education and family service plans for all assigned students according to program guidelines. Provides leadership and direction to the interdisciplinary team of professionals and paraprofessionals who provide services to assigned students. Supervises and directs the work of assigned classroom education staff. Works collaboratively with parents, school districts, municipalities, and other agencies to ensure that the student’s needs are met.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Master’s degree; however, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be hired initially, as New York State allows individuals with an Initial Certification to teach while completing their Master’s degree within a five-year timeframe.

Compensation Range:
$54,581.44 - $64,470.45

The Center for Disability Services provides comprehensive Health Care, residential services, education, adult programming, service coordination and skilled nursing care to individuals with disabilities. In addition, we have a commercial printing, inserting, and mailing operation that is supported by a workforce of over 200 individuals with disabilities.
Our annual budget is approximately $129 million dollars and we employ over 2,700 workers in over 80 locations. The Center also has a Foundation that supports many of the necessary services that are not funded by other sources.
