Job Description

Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a Long Term Substitute (LTS) Special Education Teacher, Center Based DCD/ASD Program (1.0 FTE) to join the team at Shakopee High School from approximately November 10, 2026 through December 22, 2026.

Job Summary:

Responsible for delivering direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop/manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Current MN teaching license in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS).
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.

Working Conditions:

  • Classroom, office, lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, keyboarding, etc.
  • Physical ability to attend to personal care needs of students, if necessary.

Pay Information:

  • Daily rate ranges from $289.00 to $403.76 depending on education level.
