JOB POSITION: SPECIAL DESK SALES MANAGER

THE ROLE

Lead the Special Desk commercial strategy and sales execution for Reefer, Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and Breakbulk (BB) business in Thailand. Develop profitable and sustainable cargo flows, strengthen strategic customer relationships, and expand the customer portfolio in line with the Agency Business Plan, Commercial Action Plan, Group policies and service capabilities. Lead the sales team to deliver volume, revenue, contribution and customer-experience objectives while promoting CMA CGM Group solutions and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute the Special Desk sales plan for Reefer, OOG and BB segments, aligned with agency and regional priorities.
  • Identify target commodities, trade opportunities, customers and prospects; build a qualified pipeline and convert opportunities into profitable business.
  • Develop account plans for strategic customers and maintain effective coverage through customer visits, opportunity reviews and accurate NOVA records.
  • Promote maritime and non-maritime solutions, including value-added, intermodal, digital and logistics services, based on customer needs.
  • Lead or coordinate commercial proposals, quotations and tenders within approved pricing and contribution guidelines.
  • Validate customer requirements, special equipment needs, operational feasibility and implementation responsibilities before commitment.
  • Act as the commercial focal point and coordinate with Trade, Pricing, Operations, Customer Care, Documentation, Finance and Equipment teams.
  • Lead the Outside Sales and Inside Sales team by setting clear objectives, customer coverage and working principles.
  • Coach team members, review performance and development needs, and build team capability and succession readiness.
  • Monitor and report volume, revenue, contribution, pipeline, conversion, customer activity and receivables against plan.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant commercial or shipping experience, including at least 3 years in a people-management or sales-leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer portfolios, commercial negotiations and sales performance.
  • Strong knowledge of liner shipping, freight forwarding or international logistics and the end-to-end commercial process.
  • Working knowledge of Reefer and special cargo business, including OOG/BB customer requirements, equipment considerations and operational constraints.
  • Strong commercial acumen in pricing, contribution management, negotiation, tender management and credit follow-up.
  • Ability to analyze market and performance data, prepare reliable forecasts and convert insight into commercial action.
  • Good command of spoken and written English, with strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial CRM/reporting systems; disciplined use of NOVA or equivalent tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or additional commercial qualification.
  • Professional training in leadership, key-account management, negotiation or project management.
  • Experience in temperature-controlled commodities, project cargo or complex logistics solutions.
  • Knowledge of value-added services, intermodal, digital and integrated logistics solutions.
  • Experience working in a regional or multinational matrix organization.
