Special Assets Analyst

Location

New York, NY 10018The Special Assets Analyst supports the Special Assets team with day-to-day management of Classified C&I and commercial real estate/multifamily loans and assists with reporting and litigation matters. Collaborates/works with Special Assets Team Leads and Officers while supporting efforts to preserve principal and prevent charge-offs. Maintains compliance with policy, procedure and lending regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts market research and analysis toassistSpecial Assets Officers andTL’swith Classified loan remediation efforts.

  • Assistswith creating/auditing documents requested by third party consultants including loan officers, attorneys, and appraisers.

  • Assistswithcreationof relevant documents related to forecasting and other monthly/quarterly reporting requirements.

  • SupportsSpecial Assets Officers and TL’s with implementing actions and workout strategies.

  • Acts as a liaison when neededforinternal/external stakeholders

  • Run financial spreads and modeling asrequired

  • Reviews andmaintainsrecurrent status reports from outside counsel, detailing loan status in the legal process and making updates asrequired

  • Maintains file records andtransitionto document retention and retrieval.

  • Completes self-audits for key processes tomaintainfiles andassistin audit documentation requests.

  • Performs special projects, andadditionalduties and responsibilities asrequired

  • Consistently adheresto regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listedand complete required compliance trainingsAccountable tomaintaincompliance with applicable federal,stateand local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education levelrequiredUndergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) Business Administration, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum experiencerequired4+ Yearswithin the Loan Workout/Special Assets field, preferably at an OCC regulated institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with various loan databases

Job Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of and ability to interpret real estate documentation.

  • Excellent knowledge of real estate policies,proceduresand related lending laws.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Word and Excel.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask.

  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize workload.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
