Summary Statement:
The primary responsibility of the Surveillance Specialist is to protect the guests, team members and assets of the property utilizing the Surveillance equipment and various forms of software; as well as investigating and documenting all Casino and designated property area activities. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.
Statement:
The primary responsibility of the Surveillance Specialist is to protect the guests, team members and assets of the property utilizing the Surveillance equipment and various forms of software; as well as investigating and documenting all Casino and designated property area activities. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.
Primary Job Duties:
• Monitor Table Games, Slots, Cages, Soft Count and Race and Sports Book.
• Report repairs of Surveillance equipment to the department Technicians via email or iTrak system for record accuracy; in the event the system(s) goes down, a verbal request will be sent to the Technicians.
• Operate Surveillance video equipment to ensure accurate video documentation regarding irregularities or deviations from normal activities; write factual reports about abnormal activity observed and ensure compliance with the Surveillance system.
• Work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies while conducting investigations.
• Detect and identify theft, fraud, and other criminal activities in all point-of-sale environments.
• Utilize AI and other software programs, investigating and analyzing data and alerts provided.
• Evaluate the Table Games play of high-end luxury property guests.
• Conduct observations and investigations on suspicious activity on the Casino floor.
• View the Casino areas for identification of cheating activities, undesirables, pilferage, and embezzlement.
• Assist Security in protecting the welfare of the team members and guests of the Casino and Hotel.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal law enforcement in the investigation of criminal activity which occurred on company property.
• Pass Surveillance examinations that reflect and demonstrate current/actual job knowledge when administered by management as outlined in current procedures.
• Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Competencies:
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
• Knowledgeable of state gaming regulations and statutes and a thorough understanding of departmental policies and procedures
• Knowledgeable of all Casino games, including payoffs, and game odds, specific knowledge of all areas observed, including but not limited to, rules, procedures, cheating methods, and card counting methods.
• Ability to make decisions based on existing evidence and protects the assets of Resorts World Las Vegas.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of Gaming Minimum Internal Casino Standards, local jurisdictional gaming laws, and Nevada Revised Statutes.
• Should be proficient in detection of advantage play (card counters, top card, and hole card).
• A good understanding of all computer-based programs used by Surveillance, iTrak, BJ Survey, Bravo Sessions or equivalent.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
• Must be 21 years of age.
• At least two years of Casino experience in Table Games, Slots, Soft Count rooms, Cashiers, related areas, or equivalent video monitoring and investigation experience.
• At least two years in a Surveillance department and knowledge of all Table Games in a high-end luxury resort is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
