Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Act as the lead tech in charge of managing and coordinating the daily operations of the sterile processing unit.
• Manage, mentor, and train sterile processing technicians.
• Ensure the maintenance and operation of necessary equipment including but not limited to washers, sterilizers, and sonic cleaners.
• Responsible for managing surgical instrumentation processing and distribution systems.
• Develop policies and procedures for ensuring excellent sterile processing techniques and enhancing patient outcome measures.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient handling of surgical trays for surgical/procedural purposes.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in sterile processing leadership roles.
• Experience as a travel tech is a plus.
• Certification in sterile processing and distribution required.
• In-depth knowledge of sterilization and disinfection techniques and the ability to comprehend complex instructions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage, delegate, and work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking in evaluating and resolving procedural challenges.
• Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to travel and work in different locations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
