About this role

This position at Carrier Commercial Service is for a seasoned professional in Project Management, who works independently, supports the development of project plans, schedules & budgets for projects, facilitates project tasks with various functional organizations, forecast project revenues, tracks progress, identifies project problems, and recommends resolutions.

The Project Manager manages the daily coordination of projects including preparing and maintaining budgets, staffing requirements, and is responsible for executing within estimated project costs, managing both material and labor costs. This role gathers and analyzes data, prepares progress reports, coordinates project tasks with various functional organizations, and identifies project problems.

This is a hybrid role based out of Mississauga Ontario

Key Responsibilities

• Review financial project scope and approve estimated costs
• Work with project coordinator to issue purchase orders for material and subcontractors
• Prepare accurate monthly project financial projections for subcontractor monthly costs
• Schedule & execute the manpower plan and manage resource requirements on projects
• Manage purchased material & equipment i.e. coordinate, deliver, receive and inspect
• Interface with customers and supervise activities as required
• Document all installation & schedule issues with subcontractors
• Track & approve subcontractor monthly invoices. Ensure accuracy and compliance thereof
• Provide necessary documentation & communication to all customer levels and sub-contractors and/or ensure that the appropriate members of the project team do so to
• Represent Carrier Commercial Service professionally in meetings and proactively defend the company’s best interest
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
• Responsible for the management of onsite commissioning and close-out activities
• Manage all aspects of the project with minor management supervision
• Adherence to HSE standards and Carrier-specific practices

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 5+ years plus experience in the HVAC industry
• 5+ years plus experience in project management
• 75% daily traveling to project sites
• Valid driver license

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

• Certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), AMA Certified Professional in Management, or LEED Accredited Professional (AP)
• Strong problem solving, planning and project management skills
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word and Excel
• Self-starter, be able to organize and plan own work schedule
• Work well in a team environment
• Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb and crawl on a construction site if needed
• Minimal overnight travel
• French language an asset
