Le ou la Spécialiste Architecture NTN – Réseaux Satellitaires est responsable de la conception, de l’optimisation et du déploiement des solutions de réseaux non terrestres (NTN). Il ou elle pilote l’évolution des réseaux satellitaires, veille à la performance, à la résilience et à la pérennité des systèmes, et assure une interopérabilité fluide entre les segments satellitaires spatial et sol, dans un environnement hybride satellite et terrestre.

La personne qui occupe ce poste se rapporte à la Directrice, infrastructures sol satellite et RAN et collabore étroitement avec les équipes d’ingénierie, d’opérations, de cybersécurité et les partenaires technologiques internes et externes.

Principales responsabilités :

Architecture et conception des réseaux non terrestres (NTN):

• Définir l’architecture des composantes satellites au sol, incluant les passerelles, les liaisons de raccordements (feeder links) et les systèmes de formation de faisceaux (beamforming).
• Assurer l’intégration des segments satellitaires spatial (faisceaux, charge utile) et sol (passerelles, centre satellite / hub, Liaisons de raccordements) au réseau d’accès radio satellite (Sat RAN).
• Élaborer les feuilles de route technologiques visant à assurer la performance, la résilience et la pérennité des infrastructures NTN.
• Coordonner les interventions avec les équipes responsables des passerelles pour la gestion des sites, des espaces et le déploiement des composantes de connectivité, de sécurité et des éléments connexes.
• Piloter les choix technologiques, incluant la sélection des fournisseurs et l’utilisation du spectre radio pour les Liaisons de raccordements.
• Participer à la validation des équipements et à la gestion des projets d’implantation.Définir les procédures de formation et de gestion des faisceaux afin d’optimiser la couverture et la capacité des réseaux NTN

Dimensionnement et support des infrastructures NTN:

• Assurer le dimensionnement des infrastructures satellites au sol et la gestion capacitaire des ressources spectrales liées aux liaisons de raccordements.
• Planifier et déployer les plans de faisceaux satellites, et en mesurer la performance opérationnelle.
• Collaborer et offrir un soutien technique aux projets de calibration, d’évolution et de modernisation des segments satellitaires spatial et sol.
• Modéliser la planification des capacités des segments spatial et sol et identifier les seuils d’extension capacitaire (fréquences, canaux).
• Définir et maintenir la feuille de route d’évolution des ressources satellites (matériel et logique).
  

Performance et optimisation des réseaux NTN:

• Appuyer, au besoin, les équipes d’opérations dans le diagnostic et la résolution des incidents, incluant des interventions sur site et à distance.
• Définir les procédures de détection et d’analyse des interférences sur la réception satellite.
• Optimiser l’allocation dynamique des faisceaux afin de maximiser la performance du réseau.
• Élaborer les méthodes de tests et de validation des solutions de réseaux non terrestres (NTN) pour les segments satellitaires spatial et sol.
• Évaluer l’impact de l’évolution des normes 3GPP (incluant les cas d’usage Direct-au-Mobile (D2D) communication de dispositif à dispositif) et veiller à leur intégration dans la feuille de route d’évolution des équipements satellites au sol.
  

Gestion technique et coordination:

• Formuler des recommandations techniques et stratégiques en lien avec son champ d’expertise.
• Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes techniques du réseau d’accès radio (RAN), du centre des opérations réseau (NOC), du laboratoire, du cœur de réseau (Core) et des opérations, afin d’assurer une interopérabilité fluide entre les couches réseau, incluant les environnements NTN, terrestres et D2D.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les équipes d’ingénierie, d’opérations et de cybersécurité afin d’assurer la conformité, la robustesse et la sécurité des systèmes.
• Superviser et coordonner le travail des fournisseurs d’équipements et de service s.
  

Éducation/Expérience/Certification :

• Détenir un diplôme en télécommunications ou dans un domaine équivalent.
• Posséder au moins 10 ans d’expérience en réseaux satellitaires non terrestres (NTN), incluant les constellations GEO et LEO, les passerelles satellites et les équipements satellites au sol.
• Expérience en communications de Direct-au-Mobile (D2D) et en Internet des objets (IdO), incluant les environnements IdO NTN, fortement souhaitée.
• Expérience avec des opérateurs hybrides, intégrant des réseaux satellitaires (GEO/LEO) et des réseaux terrestres 4G et 5G.

Autres qualifications :

• Connaissance des technologies VoLTE (voix sur LTE), VoNB (voix sur réseaux bande étroite) et des solutions NB‑IdO (Internet des objets bande étroite), incluant leur intégration dans des environnements NTN (réseaux non terrestres) et IdO NTN.
• Bonne compréhension des normes de sécurité et de conformité applicables aux infrastructures critiques de télécommunications.
• Maîtrise des systèmes de gestion de réseau, des protocoles IP et des outils de surveillance et de supervision réseau.
• Connaissance approfondie des architectures de passerelles satellites (Gateway), des protocoles IP, des liaisons radiofréquences (RF) et des systèmes de gestion de réseau associés.
• Connaissance des architectures Direct- au-Mobile (D2M) et/ou des architectures IdO NTN (Internet des objets sur réseaux non terrestres).
• La maîtrise du français est requise pour ce poste.

The NTN Architecture Specialist– Satellite Networks is responsible for the design, optimization and deployment of non-terrestrial network (NTN) solutions. He or she leads the evolution of satellite networks, ensures the performance, resilience and sustainability of systems, and ensures seamless interoperability between the space-based and ground-based satellite segments, in a hybrid satellite and terrestrial environment.

The person who holds this position reports to the Director, Satellite Ground Infrastructure and RAN and works closely with the engineering, operations, cybersecurity teams and internal and external technology partners

Main Responsibilities:

Non-Terrestrial Network Architecture and Design (NTN):

• Define the architecture of the ground satellite components, including gateways, feeder links and beamforming systems.
• Ensure the integration of the space (beams, payload) and ground (gateways, satellite center/hub, backhaul) segments into the Satellite Radio Access Network (Sat RAN).
• Develop technology roadmaps to ensure the performance, resilience and sustainability of NTN infrastructures.
• Coordinate interventions with the teams responsible for the gateways for the management of sites, spaces and the deployment of connectivity, security and related elements.
• Manage technological choices, including the selection of suppliers and the use of the radio spectrum for Connecting Links.
• Participate in the validation of equipment and the management of implementation projects.Define beam formation and management procedures to optimize the coverage and capacity of NTN networks.

Sizing and support of NTN infrastructures:

• Ensure the sizing of the satellite infrastructure on the ground and the capacity management of the spectrum resources related to the Connecting Links.
• Plan and deploy satellite beam plans, and measure their operational performance.
• Collaborate and provide technical support for the calibration, evolution and modernization of the space and ground satellite segments.
• Model capacity planning for the space and ground segments and identify capability expansion thresholds (frequencies, channels).Define and maintain the roadmap for the evolution of satellite resources (hardware and logic).

Performance and optimization of NTN networks:

• Support, as required, operations teams in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents, including on-site and remote interventions.
• Define the procedures for detecting and analyzing interference on satellite reception.
• Optimize dynamic beam allocation to maximize network performance.
• Develop methods for testing and validating non-terrestrial network (NTN) solutions for the space-based and ground-based satellite segments.
• Assess the impact of the evolution of the 3GPP standards (including Direct-to-Mobile (D2D) use cases, device-to-device communication) and ensure their integration into the roadmap for the evolution of satellite ground equipment.

Technical Leadership and Coordination:

• Formulate technical and strategic recommendations related to his/her field of expertise.
• Collaborate closely with the technical teams of the Radio Access Network (RAN), Network Operations Center (NOC), Lab, Core and Operations, to ensure seamless interoperability between network layers, including NTN, terrestrial and D2D environments.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance, robustness, and security of systems.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of equipment and service providers.
  

Education/Experience/Certification:

• Hold a degree in telecommunications or an equivalent field.
• Have at least 10 years of experience in non-terrestrial satellite networks (NTNs), including GEO and LEO constellations, satellite gateways and satellite ground equipment.
• Experience in Direct-to-Mobile (D2D) communications and Internet of Things (IoT), including NTN IoT environments, is highly desired.
• Experience with hybrid operators, integrating satellite networks (GEO/LEO) and 4G and 5G terrestrial networks.

Other Qualifications:

• Knowledge of VoLTE (Voice over LTE), VoNB (Voice over Narrowband) and NB‑IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) solutions, including their integration into NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) and NTN IoT environments.
• Good understanding of security and compliance standards applicable to critical telecommunications infrastructures.
• Proficiency in network management systems, IP protocols, and network monitoring and supervision tools.
• In-depth knowledge of Gateway architectures, IP protocols, radio frequency (RF) links and associated network management systems.
• Knowledge of Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) architectures and/or NTN IoT (Non-Terrestrial Networks for the Internet of Things) architectures.
• Fluency in French is required for this position.
• Fluency in English is also required in order to communicate effectively with clients, partners and colleagues on a national scale.
