Job Description

About the Role

The Amazon Softline Private Brands Product Quality team is seeking a smart, hardworking, and creative individual to join us as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Quality Manager based in the Shenzhen office. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent judgment in decision-making while proactively expanding their knowledge of Amazon's business, platform, and relevant technologies.

What You'll Do

This role supports Amazon's worldwide quality program for Softline categories. You will ensure all new products meet APB quality standards prior to launch and drive them to become customer-loved products within the first 12 months post-launch through customer feedback analysis, quality gap identification, and rapid corrective actions. You will also own garment care instruction management, engineering change control, the Andon Cord process, and end-to-end product quality for non-apparel categories.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a talented SME Quality Manager with direct experience in softline product manufacturing and qualification, standards, product testing, and quality improvement strategies to support our rapidly growing and evolving business.

Key job responsibilities
Ensure products continuously comply with Amazon's quality, performance, and reliability standards, as well as industry safety and regulatory requirements worldwide. This includes owning product testing protocols, care code instructions (both on-label and online), engineering change control, the Andon Cord process, and end-to-end product quality for non-apparel categories.

Drive product excellence and customer love through data-driven approaches — identifying quality trends, predicting potential issues, and implementing preventive measures across supplier networks. Leverage AI-powered analytics to deliver actionable recommendations that accelerate quality improvement and elevate the customer experience.

Design and operate scalable quality management programs with best-in-class processes and systems that drive continual improvement across business models. Translate complex technical, quality, and process requirements into clear, compelling insights for non-technical stakeholders through data visualization and storytelling.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in quality management, manufacturing, or related fields within the consumer products or fashion industry
- Solid knowledge of quality management systems and standards with a demonstrated understanding of garment manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience in softline product testing, qualification, and inspection methodologies
- Fluent in both Chinese and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong creative thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in the apparel industry in a Quality Engineering or Product Development Engineering role
- Master's degree in apparel science, textile engineering, or fabric/material science
- Proven ability to author clear, well-structured technical papers, reports, and documentation

About Amazon

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.

Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.

Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
