
POSITION TITLE: Spanish Dual-Language Immersion Program
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Manchester Park Elementary
HOURS OF WORK: 7 Hrs. Daily/169-day calendar
STATUS: Classified – Non-Exempt, Full Time
This position is responsible for providing educational support for students in the Spanish dual-language program. This position may assist in multiple grades and classrooms throughout the week. Position is responsible for assisting classroom teachers in establishing a classroom environment that ensures learning and personal growth of every student, establishing effective rapport with students, and motivating students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for becoming a responsible citizen in accordance with each student’s ability.
This position assists with instruction in a classroom which could include students with educational risk factors as well as students with special needs. The ability to form relationships with a wide variety of students and families is essential. Being able to receive guidance from the classroom teacher on how to differentiate instruction for a wide range of developmental needs is required. This position may work with students in whole group, small group, and individually on academic tasks assigned by the teacher.
This position may be assigned to student supervision duties including but not limited to lunchroom supervision and added support for certified staff members during recess duty. Additionally, they may be assigned to support the building office staff as needed.
This position reports to the building administrator.

This position requires the performance of light work. The position involves occasional lifting, sitting, standing, talking, and walking. The worker is required to have close visual acuity for the operation of learning technologies and relevant office equipment.
The position is performed in a generally hazard free environment and a clean atmosphere.
