The International School of Como is seeking a passionate and committed Spanish Teacher to join the school from August 2026.

This role is available as either:

• Part-time (0.7 FTE) – Spanish Teacher, or
• Full-time – Spanish Teacher with the ability to also teach Italian

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality language teaching, inspiring students to develop strong communication skills and cultural awareness within an engaging and supportive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach Spanish across relevant year groups (Middle and/or Secondary School)
• Plan and deliver engaging, communicative and student-centred lessons
• Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
• Prepare students for internal and external assessments where applicable
• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
• Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the languages department
• Engage positively with parents and the wider school community
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips and cultural activities
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

(For full-time role)

• Teach Italian language classes as required, supporting the school’s broader languages provision
• If applying for Spanish and Italian- Teach Italian across grades in PYP and MYP

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential

• A degree in Spanish, Languages or a related field
• A recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Spanish at school level
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• A passion for language learning and cultural education
• A collaborative and student-centred approach
• Legal right to live and work in Italy (EU passport or valid work permit)

Desirable

• Ability to teach Italian (required for full-time role)
• Experience in an international school setting
• Experience preparing students for external examinations
• Native or near-native Spanish proficiency
