Job Description

Location Overview

Join our team at Amanvari. A remote natural paradise on Mexico’s Eastern Cape, Aman’s newest retreat finds home between the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and the calm waters of the Sea of Cortés. Echoing its name, a combination of the Sanskrit-derived words for ‘peace’ and ‘water,’ Amanvari rests in harmony with its exclusive yet inspiring setting, an exclusive 1,000-acre community just one hour from Los Cabos International airport.

Role

The Spa Receptionist at Amanvari is the first and last point of contact in each guest’s spa journey, playing an essential role in creating a sense of calm, care, and effortless hospitality. The Spa Receptionist takes full ownership of every guest interaction, ensuring a warm, discreet, and seamless experience that reflects Amanvari’s commitment to excellence.

As a key member of the Spa team, the Spa Receptionist is responsible for managing reservations, thoughtfully recommending treatments and products, and maintaining the presentation and organization of the spa reception and retail areas. The role works closely with Spa Therapists, the Wellness team, and management to ensure seamless operations and highly personalized service.

Through genuine care, attention to detail, and a calm and welcoming presence, the Spa Receptionist helps create an environment where every guest can disconnect from the outside world, reconnect with themselves, and experience the Spa as a true sanctuary of peace and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional and personalized guest service from arrival through departure, recognizing guests by name and creating a warm, calm, and discreet experience.
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance on spa and wellness offerings, including treatments, products, packages, and experiences, while making thoughtful recommendations based on each guest’s preferences and needs.
  • Manage spa reservations and appointments accurately, optimizing occupancy and therapist availability through the effective use of spa management systems.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date guest profiles and treatment histories, ensuring continuity and personalization throughout future visits.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with Spa Therapists, Wellness providers, and other departments to ensure smooth guest flow and the timely handling of special requests.
  • Support spa retail operations by maintaining expert product knowledge, providing tailored recommendations, and assisting with inventory control and stocktaking.
  • Ensure accurate billing and financial procedures for all spa services and retail transactions, in accordance with Amanvari’s established standards and controls.
  • Maintain an immaculate, serene, and well-presented spa environment, ensuring reception and retail areas are organized, properly stocked, and consistently reflect Amanvari’s standards of luxury and attention to detail.
  • Uphold all Spa Standards of Operation, safety, hygiene, and checklist procedures, ensuring guest areas remain safe, orderly, and free of hazards at all times.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing Spa team, participating in meetings, briefings, training, inventory counts, and incident reporting, while supporting colleagues and management as required.

Requirements

  • College graduate in any field, or currently pursuing college-level studies; a background in wellness, hospitality, or administration is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or spa environment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Spa Receptionist or Front Desk Agent in a high-end hospitality setting is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of spa and beauty therapies, including treatment types, benefits, and guest recommendations.
  • Familiarity with health, hygiene, and safety protocols within wellness and spa environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Opera, and spa booking or management software.
  • Working knowledge of retail operations, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Proven ability to recommend and upsell treatments, packages, and retail products while supporting sales goals.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build genuine connections with guests.
  • Professional, calm, discreet, and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain composure and service excellence under pressure.
