You will:

  • Be accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations.
  • Exhibit culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions.
  • Work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
  • Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced. Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports. Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.
  • Be driven by a deep, authentic love for cooking and hospitality, with a relentless commitment to creating extraordinary dining experiences that leave a lasting impression on every guest.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring culinary standards and responsibilities are met:

  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Provides direction for all day-to-day operations
  • Develops, designs or creates new applications, ideas, relationships, system or products including artistic contributions
  • Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards

Maintaining Goals for Culinary Function and Activities

  • Implements guidelines and control procedures for purchasing and receiving areas
  • Communicates the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedures codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety.
  • Manages department controllable expenses including food costs, supplies, uniforms and equipment

Leading Kitchen Operations

  • Leads shifts while personally preparing food and executing requests based on required specifications
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates
  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviour
  • Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job description for each position

What we value in this role

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role in a large scale hotel operation.
