Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to support the kitchen team at London Museum Docklands.

This is a key role within a 7-day operation, supporting the delivery of high-quality food across cafe, corporate hospitality, and events. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play an integral part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to lead and develop the team while maintaining consistently high standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a values-led hospitality environment, with a strong emphasis on seasonal menus, responsibly sourced ingredients, and showcasing the best of local produce. A passion for thoughtful, sustainable cooking and delivering high-quality food at scale is essential.

Role specific:

  • Support the Head Chef in developing and delivering seasonal menus for cafe, hospitality and events
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality and consistency
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff while maintaining a positive, high-performing kitchen culture
  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver tailored event catering to a high standard
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations, maintaining accurate records
  • Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships to meet operational needs
  • Oversee food production and service, ensuring timely and well-presented delivery
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and standards of cleanliness and organisation
  • Support team wellbeing and contribute to a collaborative, positive working environment
