Sous Chef – 2 Rosette Standard Gastro Pub – North Yorkshire

£36,000 + Live-In Available (Short Term)

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join a highly regarded independent gastro pub kitchen in North Yorkshire, easily commutable from York and Thirsk.

This award-winning venue operates at a strong 2 Rosette standard, with a genuine focus on fresh, seasonal food and high-quality ingredients. Working alongside a stable and experienced brigade of 5–6 chefs, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining standards while contributing creatively to an ambitious kitchen.

The Role

The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping lead service, maintain consistency, and mentor junior chefs. This is a hands-on role suited to someone passionate about modern British gastro pub food.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a fresh food kitchen is essential
  • Rosette experience preferred
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Passion for quality ingredients and standards
  • Comfortable working in a semi-rural location
  • Must be able to drive due to location
