Sourcing & Supply Planning Specialist - Jan Dekker

At Jan Dekker ( Amsterdam) we are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Sourcing & Supply Planning Specialist to strengthen our international supply chain team. In this challenging role, you will be responsible for ensuring product availability through effective supply planning and purchasing, while developing and managing a reliable international supplier network. The ideal candidate has experience in procurement, supply planning, sourcing, or supply chain management, is comfortable working with ERP systems and data, and possesses strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Experience with international sourcing, particularly in the APAC region , is highly desirable.

Main responsibilities:
Supply Planning & Purchasing

• Manage purchasing based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, lead times, and safety stock;
  
• Create and monitor purchase orders and supplier deliveries;
  
• Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure product availability;
  
• Maintain accurate planning and purchasing data in the ERP system;
  
• Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams to align supply with demand;
  
• Continuously improve planning parameters, purchasing processes, and system efficiency.
  

Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers globally, with a focus on China and India;
  
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and other commercial agreements;
  
• Manage supplier pricing data and perform pricing analyses;
  
• Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, reliability, and service;
  
• Identify sourcing opportunities that enhance cost efficiency, availability, and supply security;
  
• Represent Jan Dekker in supplier meetings and negotiations.
  

What you bring:

• Experience in purchasing, supply planning, procurement or sourcing;
  
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree;
• Strong communication and negotiation skills;
  
• Proactive, energetic and results-oriented mindset;
  
• Experience with ERP systems, Excel and planning data;
  
• Strong ownership and follow-through;
  
• Ability to work independently and within an international team;
  
• A valid EU work permit;
  
• Experience within chemicals, manufacturing or B2B distribution is an advantage.
