The Sourcing Supervisor (Brokers) is to oversee the development and management of sustainable relationships with brokers and ensure that the projected Coconuts are achieved at the least possible cost and that they meet the set quality standards. The supervisor will implement the required broker coconut sourcing procedures, controls and follow-ups and align accordingly with the Agriculture Services Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

With guidance from the Agriculture Services Manager, the Sourcing Supervisor
(Brokers) will:
● Ensure that brokers are well coordinated and their coconut inspected for maturity and seasoning. The Supervisor will ensure that broker nuts are properly graded to ensure no defects are collected and that small and big nuts are paid as so.
● Supervise brokers to ensure purchasing of coconuts that meet the set targets & quality, and report achievements and gaps on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Development of the work plan template. Detail how many nuts each broker has in their inventory (seasoned and unseasoned).

  • Development of broker inventories for purposes of development of dehusking plan by Finance.

  • Maintain accurate record of brokers inventories and ensure that rules of heaping and seasoning are strictly adhered to.

  • Train brokers to ensure that they understand the quality standards demanded by the Client and also build a good relationship.

  • Ensure that all documentations regarding broker sourcing are well made, maintained and shared.

● Review the quality of coconuts to ensure that the balance between quality and price of raw material is maintained across coconut sourcing operations. Communicate any variances in coconut quality to the Agriculture Services Manager.
● Communicate the list of brokers for coconuts to be collected from and follows up to ensure that coconuts are collected in a cost and time efficient manner, and that documentation is accurate.
● Inspect seasoning of broker coconuts to ensure that the requested dehusking quantity is correspondent to the dehusked nuts.
● Prepare all required reports (metrics indicated in KPI’s below) on broker sourcing. Analyze data to produce meaningful insights to be discussed with the Agriculture Services Manager.
● Daily, use Appsheet to update on broker records and activity.
● Communicate to the Agriculture Services Manager, opportunities for increasing awareness across the regions we operate. Communicate or confirm current broker prices being offere to farmers and prices offered by brokers not selling to Kentaste.
● Coordinate the collection plan with the Logistics department after aligning with the
Agriculture Services Manager to ensure efficiency and maintain the cost incurred in broker
nuts collection and delivery to the factory.
● Develop both monthly, quarterly and yearly budgets depending on sourcing needs.
● Keep abreast of the Coconut industry and market trends and best practices.
● Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations as per the Code of Conduct.
● Safeguard company assets that are at your disposal.
● Any other duties assigned to you by your direct supervisor or the management.


Requirements


● Minimum diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness or Procurement related to the duties and
responsibilities of this position.
● Intermediate (practical) knowledge of computer applications - Google Docs/Sheets, Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Experience using a mobile-based data collection
application will be an added advantage.
● Proven work experience as a Sourcing Assistant or Procurement Assistant for 2 years.
● Has a valid license for a motorbike.
● Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgment.
● Strong leadership and negotiation skills
● Strong skills in working with figures - collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
● Good time-management skills, great communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
