Job Description Summary

About This Role

If you're early in your supply chain career and ready to own something real from day one, this role puts you at the center of GE Vernova's sourcing initiatives — a fast-moving, data-intensive environment where accuracy and follow-through directly impact product development timelines.

As a Sourcing Specialist focused on samples procurement to support the development of new parts & suppliers, you'll manage the full purchase order lifecycle, keep our sourcing systems clean and current, and serve as the operational link between suppliers and internal teams like Research & Development (R&D), Engineering, and Quality. This isn't a passive support role — it requires someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and has a sharp eye for data detail.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Own the samples Purchase Order (PO) lifecycle to support new parts & supplier development — from requisition through delivery — issuing POs, tracking supplier acknowledgments, and resolving discrepancies to protect on-time performance
  • Maintain real-time data integrity across supply chain systems, ensuring delivery dates, quantities, and pricing are always accurate and current
  • Act as the primary supplier contact for status updates, shipment escalations, and delivery issue resolution
  • Build and manage operational reports that track PO status, spend, and lead-time metrics for Sourcing Project Management stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and fulfillment teams to align samples procurement with active project needs and compliant sourcing strategies

Who We're Looking For

You're a detail-oriented, organized early-career professional who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment — someone who takes pride in keeping systems accurate and stakeholders informed.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience in a procurement or supply chain setting
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial sourcing, procurement, or supplier management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or a comparable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with the ability to manage and maintain high-accuracy sourcing data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders simultaneously

Preferred

  • Familiarity with supplier development or dual-sourcing projects
  • Exposure to R&D or new product introduction (NPI) procurement environments
