
Bavarian Nordic is expanding its procurement organisation and is looking for an experienced sourcing specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for executing source-to-contract processes.
Initially, a strong focus of the role will be the support for project procurement for a new laboratory and office building as well as in facility management and maintenance. Subsequently, you will then take on procurement responsibilities across other spend categories.
Your responsibilities
Lead procurement projects and RFP processes to optimize costs, ensure supply continuity and deliver best-value sourcing solutions
Negotiate commercial terms and manage supplier contracts to achieve competitive outcomes and foster long-term supplier relationships
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including GMP, FDA and EMA standards
Monitor procurement KPIs, prepare regular reports and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost optimization
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, e.g. Finance and global procurement teams to improve procurement processes and enhance ERP and digital procurement systems
About you
University degree in business administration, engineering or similar; preferably with a procurement qualification (CIPS, CPSM)
At least 8 years’ experience in the field of operational and strategic procurement in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
Broad experience in managing end-to-end RFP processes, including tendering, bid evaluation, supplier selection
Strong background in negotiations and contracting
Solid procurement expertise across a broad range of indirect spend categories; experience in direct procurement is an advantage
Experience supporting engineering and capital projects, as well as maintenance and facility management procurement is a plus
Ideally, experience in the pharmaceutical or vaccine manufacturing industry with an understanding of relevant regulatory requirements
Proficiency in operational procurement tools (e.g. Medius, e-sourcing platforms, catalogues), strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills in both German and English
