Introduction to the Role

We seek a highly motivated Sourcing professional to join our Services Asia Pacific and Australia (APA) Strategic Sourcing team.

The position is based in Perth, Australia and reports to the Senior Manager, Sourcing, BA SVS, APA.

As our Sourcing Specialist, you will:

• Lead the strategic selection, qualification, and development of new suppliers.
• Administer Non-Disclosure Agreement, Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct.
• Onboard the vendors on Metso’s e-Procurement Portal.
• Responsible for maximising overall supplier performance across a consolidated, competent, and reliable vendor base to meet Metso's business objectives.
• Develop and lead a structured supplier relationship management program for critical suppliers to drive performance and manage supply chain risk.
• Closely monitor suppliers on arrival on time in conjunction with the operational procurement manager to ensure healthy levels of operational procurement performance are achieved.
• Develop short-term and long-term supply agreements and contracts.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives by building an ambitious savings pipeline and realise the savings to accomplish the agreed savings targets.
• Collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop strategic category plans and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Support and guide the Tactical Sourcing team with supplier selection and RFQ.
• Support the continuous improvement of sourcing processes and procedures, ensuring best procurement practices and policies according to the Metso code of conduct.

Essential skills and experience

• Ten-plus years of experience in sourcing heavy-fabricated and machined parts, castings, and forgings.
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Supply chain / Contract / Project management.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and associated manufacturing processes.
• Experience in Spend Analysis and Category Management.
• Experienced in managing a global vendor base.
• Brief knowledge of quality documentation such as MDR, ITP and NCR
• Experienced in negotiating commercial terms and conditions.
• Intermediate-Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups)
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, positively contributing to the organisation's culture.
• Ability to articulate, engage and analyse situations, seeking practical solutions for a positive outcome.

Desirable

• Experience in SAP, Power BI, Jagger Pool 4 Tool and Sievo
