Job Description

Enabling smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips.

Work where tomorrow takes shape.

Around 80% of the world's microchips are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. As the core of virtually every electronically controlled system, microchips are an essential part of our everyday lives—from smartphones and smart homes to smart factories.

ZEISS is a global technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Through high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems, and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of increasingly smaller, more powerful, and energy-efficient microchips, helping shape the future of micro- and nanoelectronics.

The Supply Chain Management organization supports the sustainable growth and success of the ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) business unit. SMT builds strong, long-term partnerships with its suppliers and continuously expands these collaborations to maintain its technology leadership. Together, we leverage synergies and optimize supply chains to consistently meet our customers' evolving requirements. Our highly motivated team of experts from diverse disciplines works closely together to transform cutting-edge technology into reality.

Your Role

  • As a Sourcing Project Manager, you will play a central role in complex technology and product development projects by planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting on strategic sourcing projects in the field of ultra-clean manufacturing and cleaning technologies. You will lead supplier-related work packages and manage the supplier interface throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You will coordinate and monitor supplier activities to ensure that their development and manufacturing processes related to cleaning and contamination control are closely aligned with our product development process.
  • You will provide functional leadership to cross-functional teams working with external partners across one or more sourcing projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from Quality, Logistics, Engineering, Procurement, and Sustainability.
  • You will monitor supplier cleaning capacities, balance demand, capacity utilization, and delivery performance, identify potential risks at an early stage, and proactively manage capacity planning by providing clear decision-making recommendations.
  • In addition, you will support the Category Manager in implementing the sourcing strategy and lead the resulting projects and improvement initiatives.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a university degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You have at least three years of professional experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • You have extensive project management experience, ideally managing complex strategic sourcing or procurement projects and collaborating closely with suppliers.
  • You work in a structured, methodical manner and are committed to continuously improving processes.
  • You are a strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions. You are also willing to travel as required.
  • You have full professional proficiency in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
