The Sourcing Optimization COE transportation, Indirect Procurement serves as a strategic and operational expert within Indirect Procurement, responsible for designing, enabling, and executing advanced sourcing events with a primary focus on Transportation and Logistics categories, while supporting broader sourcing initiatives across the organization.
This role serves as the Center of Excellence (COE) for eSourcing platforms, sourcing optimization, and data-driven supplier selection. Partnering closely with Category Managers, business stakeholders, and suppliers, the role leverages advanced analytics, optimization modeling, and digital sourcing tools to drive sourcing excellence, improve procurement efficiency, and deliver measurable business value.
In addition to COE responsibilities, this role actively supports the Transportation & Logistics (T&L) team as a Category Analyst by leading complex sourcing events, driving standardization, enabling procurement capabilities, and promoting continuous improvement across global procurement processes.
What will you do:
Lead the end-to-end execution of complex transportation sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, eAuctions, and optimization-based sourcing events across transportation categories such as TL, LTL, parcel, ocean, air freight, and warehousing.
Partner with Transportation & Logistics Category Managers and business stakeholders to define sourcing strategies, gather business requirements, prepare bid data, execute sourcing events, and develop data-driven supplier award recommendations.
Design, build, and manage sourcing optimization models, including supplier allocation scenarios, network bids, lane assignments, capacity constraints, and cost-versus-service trade-off analyses.
Develop, validate, and analyze bid sheets, cost models, supplier responses, and transportation datasets to support strategic sourcing decisions and maximize value creation.
Serve as the Center of Excellence (COE) subject matter expert for Coupa and other eSourcing platforms, configuring sourcing events, optimization workflows, and supporting ongoing technology enhancements.
Drive adoption of digital sourcing tools by developing best practices, providing training, and promoting standard sourcing methodologies across procurement teams.
Manage supplier engagement throughout sourcing events, including onboarding, communications, bid clarification, compliance validation, negotiations, and ensuring competitive participation.
Develop standardized sourcing templates, playbooks, and methodologies to improve sourcing consistency, efficiency, and global process standardization.
Monitor sourcing performance metrics, including savings, sourcing cycle time, supplier participation, and tool adoption, while identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Partner with procurement leadership to identify digital sourcing innovations and continuously enhance sourcing capabilities through data-driven insights and optimization techniques.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Data Science, Logistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
3–7+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
Proven experience managing complex sourcing events and enterprise RFx processes.
Hands-on experience with eSourcing platforms such as Coupa, Keelvar, Jaggaer, or similar sourcing optimization tools.
Strong analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including modeling, scenario analysis, and data interpretation.
Experience working with transportation data, including lanes, freight rates, volumes, capacity, and service requirements.
Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders in a global business environment.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sourcing optimization platforms such as Coupa Sourcing Optimization, Keelvar, Jaggaer Advanced Sourcing Optimizer, LLamasoft, or equivalent.
Background in transportation procurement, logistics network design, or supply chain optimization.
Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools.
Knowledge of digital procurement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting global procurement organizations and cross-regional sourcing initiatives.
Travel Percentage: 10%
