This position is responsible for driving indirect purchasing strategies and strategic sourcing initiatives across all manufacturing, distribution, and retail locations. The role is designed to operate effectively as an individual contributor and, when applicable, provide people leadership responsibility, with opportunity to expand leadership scope over time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes corporate spend data to identify (and implement) cost savings opportunities for retail, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and offices.
  • Provides leadership for plant / facility buyers in the coordination of company-wide contracts, corporate purchasing practices compliance, and ensuring that the company is effectively leveraging its purchasing spend from all locations.
  • Leads contract negotiations for all corporate wide agreements for selected materials and services.
  • Develops and coordinates implementation plans for companywide agreements. This will include data analysis of company spend by commodities and services, market research for potential suppliers, and managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for identified strategic sourcing Initiatives.
  • Manages end to end RFP process for large dollar purchases and corporate contracts.
  • Implements effective purchasing processes and controls into other areas of company spend (ex. HR, Travel, Services, MRO).
  • Maintains files for all contracts and communicates appropriate information to all plants and other departments as necessary and in a timely manner when changes occur.
  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, and development support to purchasing or sourcing team members.
  • Builds leadership capability and bench strength to support future team growth as business needs evolve.
  • Partners cross-functionally to influence adoption of sourcing strategies and corporate agreements.


SCOPE & IMPACT:
This role has enterprise-wide impact across manufacturing, distribution, retail, and corporate functions. The position influences spend decisions, supplier strategy, and purchasing discipline while shaping the development of indirect procurement capabilities and talent.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field with 6-8 years of relevant experience including 1-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent.
  • Dedication to customer service.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products.
  • Up to 25 % travel.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree
  • CPM or CPSM
