ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:As part of the Lincoln Industries’ Strategic Sourcing Team, candidates perform the following to support our growth strategy

  • Support company growth by quoting projects with current strategic suppliers in a variety of manufacturing categories (stampings, castings, coatings, polishing, forgings, tube, fabrication and raw materials)
  • Analyze technical prints and make suggestions for increasing manufacturability and decreasing costs
  • Evaluate and compare supplier quotes based on multiple factors and provide recommendations to the Sales team
  • Assist cross-functional teams on project implementation as the key contact for suppliers
  • Develop relationships with strategic suppliers via email, phone calls and on-site visits
  • Drive cost savings improving manufacturability of products, creating economies of scale and optimizing supply-chains
  • Become the voice of the suppliers to internal customers discussing both technical and general topics
  • Lead teams to solve supplier challenges that are outside of day-to-day items
  • Build relationships between Lincoln Industries’ departments (Account Managers, Supplier Quality, Integration Engineering, Planning, IT, Sales, Accounting) to address and resolve critical issues related to customer needs and supplier performance
  • Manage supplier scorecards for assigned key suppliers

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to: Director of Sourcing

QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for strong candidates with the following credentials. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements as outlined below:

Education and/or Experience:

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degreefrom four-year college or university in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering or procurement experience in manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read prints and CAD files for a variety of manufacturing methods.
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate requirements and details.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Ability to be both assertive and fair when working with suppliers.

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 20%, domestic and international travel as-needed.
