The team you will be a part of

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates to join our Global Strategic Sourcing, as a Sr. Buyer over Global StrategicSourcing within the Direct Procurement organization. The role is located in Monterrey, Mexico. The Sr. Buyer willcomplement Whirlpool’s NAR GSS strategy by delivering on cost, quality, and delivery goals for the company. Therole will optimize +$100M annual spend for the NAR Region, while playing a critical role in delivering engineeringprojects, dual sourcing strategies and on time sourcing for the KitchenAid and Cooking category

This role in summary

The Sr. Buyer is responsible and accountable to lead category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supplier selection,and contracting aligned to Whirlpool’s Policies and KPI’s. The role is highly cross functional and requires the abilityto lead the right outcomes for Business Functions, Global Strategic Sourcing, and Whirlpool Corporation. Thisleader will support/lead National, Regional, and Global initiatives to deliver company imperatives.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Drive supplier performance management and commercial relationships.
  • Collaborate and influence internal Business Stakeholders and Suppliers.
  • Provide leadership and management for procurement projects and initiatives.
  • Drive extraordinary results for cost savings, quality, and delivery KPI.
  • Drive change, compliance, and continuous improvement.
    Lead category activities by:
  • Very strong management systems, governance, and controls.
  • Developing and implementing category strategies to drive direction and results.
  • Prioritize resources and critical projects in adherence to objectives and milestones.
  • Optimizing sourcing projects, key initiatives, and supplier negotiations.
  • Conduct market insights and deliver risk mitigation plans and actions.
  • Negotiate contracts and/or statements of work between Whirlpool and suppliers.
  • Drive and deliver substantial supply base reduction through strengthening partnerships with key stakeholdersand suppliers.
  • Respond to and resolve day-to-date operational supply base challenges.
    Key Deliverables:
  • Achieve year-over-year cost reductions across the category.
  • Achieve Supplier Base Rationalization targets to grow strategic partnerships and drive compliance.
  • Develop and execute detailed sourcing strategies across key categories that are required to deliverobjectives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to improve cross-functional engagement and productivity.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Supply Chain

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Interpersonal, motivational, and influential skills to engage and build rapport with business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (English language), with proficient PC related skills
  • Successful negotiation experience, contract development and execution and conflict resolution
  • Interpret and manipulate data with strong analytical skills
  • Project management in adherence to objectives and milestones
  • Manage, prioritize, and execute multiple key activities
  • Experience and or knowledge with Marketing related services
  • Experience using ERP systems, familiarity with e-sourcing tools
  • A strong application of strategic RFP processes, supplier management, and other procurement principles
  • Ability to understand Whirlpool business environment, requirements, and corporate culture
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong planning, organizational, managing, financial, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership attributes and decision-making abilities
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business
