Objective
1. Leading the sound component development in China in the Team Body Electrical Integration, Sound, NVH & Aero
a) Overall responsible for component development according to Mercedes-Benz Development System (MDS)
b) Co-Creation with RD Germany, local suppliers, purchase and quality counterparts
c) Development & release component drawings & 3D models with suppliers, including technical documentation of Engineering Changes
d) Identification of China-specific requirements and communication towards HQ
e) Ownership of the open source localization process
2. Technical support to Joint Venture BBAC RD
a) Support engineering change implementation throughout product lifecycle of localized components of all locally produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
b) Act as the window person between joint venture plant and RD HQ, provide technical support for production engineering issues.
Tasks

c) Component/ system level testing and release
2. Technical support to Joint Venture BBAC RD for localized components of all locally produced MB vehicles. Support engineering change implementation throughout product lifecycle.
3. Act as the window person between joint venture plant and RD Germany, support for analyzing/ solving series production engineering issues.
4. Working together with Field Quality organization to ensure all Chinese market issues are properly feedback, analyzed and solved.
Qualifications
1. University degree in
a) Mechanical Automotive Engineering
b) Audio Engineering Technology / Sound Engineering
c) Electrical / Acoustical / Electroacoustic Engineering with focus on audio electronics, signal processing, and acoustics.
d) or similar engineering qualification
2. Experience:
a) Graduates with first experience in automotive industry (e.g. internships) as well as applicants with minimum 2-3 years work experience at OEMs or suppliers.
b) Profound knowledge in sound system component development including coordination.
c) Sound system overall development and sound system tuning.
d) Familiarity with EE architecture and active noise cancellation technologies.
e)Familiarity with the China automotive sound supplier landscape and ecosystem.
f) Understanding of the market-specific preferences in terms of sound experience.
g) Familiarity with vehicle development process is an advantage (development phases, decision landscape).
3. Specific Knowledge:
a) Full ownership of electroacoustic components (loudspeakers, AVAS, microphones, amplifiers) along the MDS process from concept to release
b) Drive component development with suppliers (design, 3D/data, validation, engineering changes) and ensure timely delivery & maturity
c) Define and align component targets (FRF, directivity, distortion, efficiency, robustness) derived from system and vehicle requirements
d) Lead integration of loudspeakers (interior + AVAS) and microphones into vehicle architecture considering packaging, NVH, and E/E constraints
e) Act as technical interface between project, module group, RD Germany, and suppliers to ensure aligned development direction
f) Coordinate cross-functional development loops (hardware, tuning, EE, NVH, vehicle integration) to achieve target-compliant sound performance
g) Ensure component-level validation and release readiness including certification-relevant systems (e.g. AVAS)
h) Steer issue management and root cause analysis across component and vehicle level with suppliers and engineering stakeholders
i) Control industrialization, quality, and lifecycle management (localization, production issues, change management within MDS)
j) Drive innovation and continuous improvement in transducer concepts, integration strategies, and supplier solutions within project context
4. Other Knowledge:
a) Teamwork spirit with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
b) Initiative and ability to work independently and self-responsibly.
c) Strong planning and organizational skills.
d) High commitment for premium vehicles of Mercedes-Benz and quality
e) Proficiency in MS Office tools like PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and CAx (Siemens NX)
f) Willingness to travel inside China and abroad to prepare and support launches and issue solving at suppliers
g) Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills (oral, writing, listening and reading) is mandatory.
h) German language knowledge is an advantage.
i) Good driving skills.
j) Overseas study or work experience preferred, German language preferred
