The Defense Sectorat Leidos is looking for a Suite of Terminals (SoT) SATCOM Training Specialist to support the Warfighter Readiness program at Fort Gordon GA or Fort Campbell KY.

Responsibilities

New Equipment and Field Operations Support:

  • Conduct interactive fielding modernization/readiness missions, including simulations and practical exercises on SATCOM equipment operation, such as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting satellite terminals, modems, and antennas.
  • Train students on the setup, maintenance, and daily operations of satellite communication networks, including signal monitoring, frequency management, and system upgrades.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on satellite communication systems, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct classroom instruction covering satellite theory, signal propagation, frequency bands, and orbital mechanics.
  • Provide hands-on technical training on satellite terminals, antennas, modems, and associated ground equipment.
  • Create training materials including lesson plans, presentations, technical manuals, and assessment tools.

Curriculum Development:

  • Coordinate with Government customers to prepare and maintain TPF and NET plans for current and future systems.
  • Create customized training plans based on current systems, new system upgrades, and mission-specific requirements.

Cross Training:

  • Participate in formal training and self-instruction / use on complimentary systems and protocols to increase the breadth of systems competency for training and fielding requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of experience or equivalent Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) in lieu of degree requirements. Directly related experience can offset the degree requirements.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
  • Hands on experience on related TN (formerly WIN-T) systems required.
  • Deep knowledge of satellite communication systems including GEO, MEO, and LEO architectures.
  • Understanding of RF theory - modulation, frequency bands, signal propagation, and link budgets.
  • Proficiency with SATCOM equipment - terminals, antennas, modems. Prefer experience with iDirect 950mp modems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards - DVB-S2, SCPC, TDMA, and relevant military standards.
  • Technical understanding of the HEO, GEO, MEO and LEO constellation/orbits.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining 1-2M tactical satellite antennas.
  • 50% CONUS and OCONUS travel required.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
