PAY RANGE: Co-Curricular Salary Schedule Category Nine $1,959 - $3,238

Post-Season: Every week with an additional competition will be compensated at $190

CALENDAR: Winter Season

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Colorado Teacher License preferred; however, candidates with other relevant education, professional experience, or credentials will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of youth development, student engagement, and effective instructional or mentoring practices.
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as an integral member of the program team.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing program needs.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific performance responsibilities will be discussed during the application/interview process. Special consideration will be given to staff employed within the district.

The Learn to Ride Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of SOS Learn to Ride programming. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate day-to-day Learn to Ride program operations, including participant scheduling, group assignments, equipment needs, transportation logistics, and on-mountain activities.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participants to build confidence, develop new skills, and have a positive experience.
  • Serve as a primary point of communication for participants, families, volunteers, instructors, program staff, and community partners.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers and program staff.
  • Ensure program activities follow established safety procedures, organizational policies, and applicable resort or mountain guidelines.
  • Monitor participant attendance, engagement, progression, and overall program experience while maintaining accurate program records.
  • Work collaboratively with instructors and program staff to ensure lessons and activities are appropriate for participants' skill levels and program goals.
  • Identify and address day-of-program challenges, including scheduling changes, participant needs, equipment issues, weather impacts, and other operational concerns.
  • Maintain and coordinate program equipment and supplies, ensuring materials are organized, available, and ready for each program session.
  • Build positive relationships with resort partners, community organizations, families, volunteers, and other stakeholders supporting Learn to Ride programming.
  • Collect participant, volunteer, and staff feedback and contribute to ongoing program evaluation and improvement.
  • Track and report key program outcomes, including participation, attendance, retention, skill progression, and other established performance measures.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement across SOS programming.
  • Perform additional program-related duties as needed to support successful delivery of the Learn to Ride program.

TRAINING:

  • Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public-school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools.
  • You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
